London Diary days 17 - 19
DAY 17 [FEB25]:

On Friday I met a friend of mine whom I have known for many many years and yet we somehow act a bit like strangers everytime we meet ^^
His name is James Duncan and I met him the first time at the age of 13, that was nearly 9 years ago. He was 25 back then.
Since then, we always meet for some beer or coffee everytime I am in London.
So on Friday I met him again, this time in a Pub, next to Southwark Station. We had some beer/cider and talked for 90min about everything and nothing.
Because he is used to working with wood and metal (furniture stuff) I asked him for help. I still need something to be done for my newest Cosplay which I'm gonna wear in around 2 weeks already. He said he would try bending some metal. I will visit him next week again (actually for the very first time). Hopefully it fits my shoulder...
Here you can see a reference pic of the costume. It's all about this shoulder part with all that fluffy pink <3

He also told me about Berwick Street where I could find many different shops for fabrics. I went there right after I had left. The shops were already closed... afterwards I went again to the Disney store for my Rapunzel costume as I still need Pascal, the little cute Chameleon. However, it's not available yet... They couldn't tell me a date either... Dammit...
So, actually this was already everything about that day but I wanna tell you something about James. You know, he is part of a band called "The Fancy Toys" If you are reading this and are a bit bored and maybe wanna listen to some fancy music ;D check them out!
This is their homepage:
These are some pics I took at one of their gigs:
This is their newest video:
In 2008 they were finalists in Metro's "Best New Bands" and their first video of their song "Gypsy Eyes" won the Award of best Video 2010 at the Recharged Music Awards. It's very entertaning!
You can find them on Facebook, too!

DAY 18 [FEB26]:

On Friday (see above), also my German friend Annika arrived. We both study Endlish at Dortmund University. Therefore, I met her on Saturday. Firstly, we had some coffee and spent around 2 hours talking and sipping coffee at a Starbucks at Leicester Square. Then, we were looking for some place for lunch. And finally went to Garfunkel's where we had a huge Cheeseburger with Chips each. So what should we do THEN? Feeling SOOOO full......and sleepy XD Somehow we began walking and saw the entrance of the National Portrait Gallery. We spent around an hour in there. And yes, it was pretty interesting. Of course, we didn't know even half of those people who were portrayed. In fact, we were pretty happy and felt a bit intellectual when we recognized a person's face or name. I remember a painting of Lady Montague, a lady who travelled through the Orient and the picture also showed her in oriental clothes with Indian-looking people surrounding her. Actually, I don't remember whom else we recognized but there were quite some of them. It is fascinating how the artists worked such a long time ago. Some paintings seemed so real to us like photos. Amazing. However, there were also piantings which could rather be compared to fictional drawings like Manga or something. This artist painted every person pretty the same way. The eyes looked all the same. Therefore, I could tell directly that some paintings were drawn by the same artist. It looked rather terrible and a bit creepy :D
When we left the gallery we felt a bit more educated ;3 Even if I don't remember that much ^^"
We decided to walk down to Trafalgar Square and the sky looked amazing!

Then we walked down the street towards Parliament/Thames/London Eye etc.
Annika and I decided to have some beer at the end of the day. But we needed a break and therefore we went home to Annika's B&B in the South. Because she was new in this area and she didn't have a map we got totally lost and had to ask around. Lucky every second Londoner has an iPhone :D
After a short break we went to Vauxhall, my home. I changed more or less quickly and we left again, heading towards Vauxhall Station where I met some random guy called Adam. He told us that Carnaby Street would be a lovely place to go on a Saturday eve. And so it was. We went to two different pubs, having a lot Stella Artois, Estrella and Guinness <3
It is pretty funny...this London Style.... I was wearing my new dress from River Island with only some black tights and Annika normal Jeans. We were dresses rather casual. Even more did we have to laugh when we were watching all those girls and women who were dressed........differently?!?!
It seems to be totally normal to wear at least 10cm heels maybe even 15cm and plateau! Then, no tights at all but super short skirts and dresses which covered their butt! Regardless of shape every girl was dressed like a "model"/"bitch"/"sl.... errr... and worse you know. I will NOT dress like that. I am quite self-concious and not blind like some of them XD I do not need 2t of make-up to make party XD And I'm not looking for guys anyway <3
We went home at midnight and I arrived home at around halb past 12.
Btw, I was feeling a bit ill the whole day. My throat ached you know...

DAY 20 [FEB27]:

Sunday. ACTUALLY I wanted to go and participate in some London Walk about Harry Potter :D (Hello Fandooom~ or rather Fan-of-doom >D) and I had set my alarm clock for 9am. Haha. I woke up and felt terrible!!! My throat was KILLING me like hell. I decided NOT to attend the walk and better sleep for 2 more hours. ... ... 2 more hours? I woke up at 4.30pm!!!!! WHY?! I had a look on my cell phone and went WTF! If I had been able to give some noise XD my voice was gone... I would have screamed I guess XD Oh man... I slept the whole day. And still felt horrible. I don't wanna know how I would have felt without so many hours of sleep. Guess I needed it somehow.
I got up at 5pm, took a shower and ...standing there...AGAIN went WTF! I remembered: It was Sunday. Sainsburys closes at 6pm! Ô____o I rushed into my room, dryed my hair and left the house. I returned with drinks and something for dinner/lunch XD... that wa smy stupid sunday :D

I am very sorry this entry is so terribly LONG! And I bet it's super uninteresting for you. Well, you do not have to read it do you? I just wanna still remember my stay here later on. So..... ;DDD

London Diary days 10 - 16
DAYS 10-13 [FEB18-21]:

nothing really happened. I only went buying some stuff for lunch/dinner these days. Didn't feel well, so.....

DAY 14 [FEB22]:

This day I got up early (9am...haha yeah you might laugh that I call that early XDDD). At around 12h I left for my first longer journey by bus. My destination was IKEA at Wembley. Due to the fact that I'm gonna move out as soon as I'm back home, I just wanted to have a quick look at all the furniture which I still need.
It was really some looooong ride. First I had to get to Marylebone Station and then change to TUBE and then again to Bus... However, the weather was fine (not good) and it was a nice and interesting trip. I had a really great view over some unknown place (only unknown to me XD) and I saw an amazing Indian ...temple?! It was hidden behind huge walls and doors though... couldn't take a picture..unfortunately.
Well then, IKEA: I felt so...home?! XD BUT: I'd always wondered where all the kids from London had been day in day out. They are at IKEA!!! I could compare it to a playing area more than to some furniture mall.
On my way back I decided spontaneously to have a look at the Brent Cross Shopping Centre. It was only 15min by bus from IKEA. Man, it was so huge. However, the big mall in Oberhausen Germany called CentrO is still bigger! :D And more beautiful!
What did I buy again..? Ah, yes:
At H&M a black pullunder, a necklace and a Squirrel Bag *_______* and at River Island a new dress <3<3<3 and two Teatowels by Cath Kidston

sorry...too lazy to edit the pictures regarding brightness and stuff X_X

DAY 15 [FEB23]:

Hmmm...I haven't written for such a long time..that I simply do not remember XD Can't have been anything special can it? :D

DAY 16 [FEB24]:

Oh yeah, what a day. Sunny. 15°C. No clouds. Springtime. I planned my trip to the Zoo on Wednesday and so I went there on Thursday. I wouldn't have expected so many people going to the Zoo on a Weekday but I guess the weather made them go XD On my way to the Zoo, I had just left the bus at Marble Arch, I lost my heel, not the whole one but only this tiny thing on its end which gets sometimes replaced. I was just like WTF?! why am I walking in such a weird way??? Quick look at my left heel and X____X Oh nO! I walked back and being lucky I found this tiny part of plastic, picked it up and left pretending nothing had happened at all XD At the next bus station, the one to the Zoo, I was strong enough to put the broken piece back to the place where it belonged! Haha! Well, however, when I arrived at the Zoo I went WTF?! again. This time because I saw the end of the queue...without seeing the entrance at all!!! After some time someone came around and told the mass that standing there would mean there were still 1:20h to go until you got inside. Actually, this was the moment when I thought "You are gonna leave! You will NOT stand another 100min in this f* queue." Hmm...I stayed 8D And luckily it was a pretty poor guess! After another 30min I was inside. My time in the Zoo was pretty nice. Especially the rainforest/monkey walkthrough and the night area were great and very interesting! I saw a kid feeding a giraffe right in front of me. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough with my cam... What different animals did I see? Well, 2 sleeping tigers, a male lion peeing right "into the audience face" (there were glass walls...fortunately!) Of course I saw many beautiful and less beautiful animals. However, my absolute favourite on this day were the otters. You'll see on the pics below WHY

I'd never seen otters acting like this before in my entire life. They were sitting next to each other in a row. And when they moved they did so as if they were one animal, like they shared one brain XD they were SO noisy! It was a mix of meowing and twittering just interrupted by a lot of yawning and streching. I mean I've always loved otters, but now it's kinda official: Otters are the most adorable animals EVER!!!!
Soon you can take a look at ALL the Zoo pics at my flickr account following this link: like i said: soon, not yet!

At around 4:20pm I left the Zoo and walked through Regents Park. Then I had a nice talk with a black rugby player for at least an hour before I returned home.

London Diary days 7+8+9
Hey folks~ <3

DAY 7 {FEB15]:

err...i went to the O2 Centre at Finchley Road that day. I thought it was big (no I did not think it was the O2 Arena, but nevertheless I thought it would be kinda big). And I looked up the programm for VUE Cinema at O2 Centre. It said "Black Swan" at 7.40pm. Good time! So I went there by Tube and thought I could spent some hours in the Centre and then go to the Cinema. MÄÄÄÄP! Wrong again. I only had a quick look at the super expensive Furniture at Habitat and bought a Happy Birthday Card for my Grandma at Sainsburys... And after that it was only 4.30pm... argh...would should I do with so much time. And btw, at a rainy day? Therefore I bought a ticket for "Tangled". Again. YES, I watched it for the 4. time..but it was my first time I watched it in English, ok?! :D And YES, I still love it, even if I like the German Version a bit better. But only a little bit ;D
Still 50min to go until the movie would start. Mhh..hungry! There was a "Yo Sushi" Restaurant on the same floor and I took some Miso Soup, Tempura Prawn, V-Gyoza and spicy Chickensalad...Expensive enough!
After the movie I simply went home... nothing interesting... Oh wait...i got stuck in the Underground for half an hour because the way was blocked or something. Ah..I didnt care. I played DS "Prof Luton and the Unwound Future" or however it is called in English XD

DAY 8 [FEB16]:

Haha...actually...i didnt wanna get up at all XD But then I decided to - finally - go and see "Black Swan". And so I did at VUE at Leicester Square. Pretty small screen but it was alright. I was so shocked after this brlliant movie that I'm sure I had some weird facial expression on my way home. Why the hell - with me looking so ...disturbed? - did a guy randomly talk to me? I mean, okay, it was kinda nice as he told me that I looked like a model and stuff. We had a quick talk till we had to take different routes. I bought quickly some Sushi and Teriyaki Chicken at the JapanCentre at Regent St and hurried home - still feeling like two persons...if you watched the movie you know what I'm talking about!
If not: Hell! GO WATCH IT!

DAY 9 [FEB17]:

Well, today was so...boring..?Again? I went to Victoria in order to find a Post Office and so I did just a few minutes walk from the station. I bought many different envelopes and directly gave the Birthday Card for my Granny away, which won't be there on time anyway...Her birthday is like in 10 min XDD
Then I decided not to go back the same way I had come. I walked down just randomly some streets and after 20 min or so I really had no clue where I was XD shit happens... and then or rather because of that I did something I hadnt done before in London. I jumped onto a Bus Ö__Ö" It was really spontaneous. Actually I was just trying to figure out where I was, staring at one of these "here are you" maps when a Bus stopped next to me. Its sign said "terminates Hampstead Heath" okay...? "via Trafalgar Square" aaaaaaaaah sounds better. So I got on the bus and experienced a totally different look at London. Being on tour via Tube makes you miss the details of your surroundings so much... I think I am going to take the bus more often now ^^
I had some Pizza and Garlic Bread *yummy* at Pizza Hut simply because I wanted it to become dark outside... I planned to take some London by Night pictures later on. And I did, but unfortunately it became rather foggy and therfore the pictures are not as clear as I want them. But I took a very cool shot of a Bus driving by. I will upload it here soon.
Tomorrow? Argh...don't know... My friend from Londo said he may have some time to spare next week and my German friend from university is going to arrive next Friday... Still waiting for some cool invitation to the next party, but my other German friend told me it could take some time.....
The weather is said to be kinda wet this weekend... Hmm..cinema again? nahh... maybe I should take a look at all these interesting museums in London, shouldnt I?

London Diary days 5+6
Hey folks!

DAY 5 [FEB13]:

Well, on Sunday...I didnt do very much... at least nothing really producitve. I got up pretty late and only went to Sainsburys half an hour before they closed at 6pm to buy a pizza and some water. What a day. Then the grumpy granny told me that I was not allowed to use the oven. Haha great! Couldnt she have told me a bit earlier??? Well, I was able to "bake" it in the Microwave coz it has some Oven-function... Ah did you know that British Pringles "Originals" dont taste like the German ones? BECAUSE: the British dont HAVE a taste. It's only crisps without any kind of spice even without salt!! BAH... Now they are standing here in my room and noone wants them XD Poor Pringles...
Ah, btw: I watched the whole Season 3 of "How I met your Mother" on Saturday and Sunday. I thought I loved it before but now I know that I reaaaaally love it <3<3 Somehow I like this BarneyxRobin thingy XD

DAY 6 [FEB14]:

Today was pretty cool actually. The weather was nice (no rain!) and I even remember having seen the sun once or twice ;D
In the morning I planned a visit to the Zoo. However, someone >___>""" blocked the bathroom for aaaaaaages and after all I was able to leave the house at 1.30pm. I arrived at Camden Town at around 2.15h via Nothern Line and my signs told me that I needed to walk for 15min and turn to the left. Haha...the left? There was no fucking LEFT! Only dead ends!
Okay it was kinda late by then and therfore I decided NOT to go to the Zoo but have a closer look at Camden instead. Pretty good idea... This part of the city is so awesome. Apart from all these cool Anime and Gothic shops and I even saw Wig shops *__* I was kinda fascinated by the other shops like Indian or all-leather or shops where everything was made of wood with chilly forest music XD I took a lot of pictures and maybe I'm gonna post them soon. However, I spent 3 full hours in Camden before I took the TUBE back to Picadilly where I bought my lunch/dinner japanese curry <3
Btw, in Camden i bought a lovely LOOOOVELY new dress for 25GBP, a huge bag with cute monkeys on it for 5GBP and a One Piece Mobile etc strap for 7GBP... i want to wear this dress very soon at some party <3<3<3

Tomorrow the weather is said to be rainy again. What shall I do? Go to the cinema? We'll see...
STILL I want to shoot from dawn till dusk. So please...cosplayers and fashion queens of me XD

Shiggy <3

London Diary days 3+4

I remember my mum say: It was your first day. It can only get better!
Haha, wrong!

DAY 3 [FEB11]:

Yesterday I met a German friend whom I know from school. We met a Mile End Station and went together to Queen Mary University. She had offered me to print my CVs there as I do not have a printer, of course and wanted to avoid going into an Internet Café. After been able to print some pages we went for a coffee in a pretty cool University Lounge Café. She invited me :3
It made me feel very comfortable to talk to someone I know. Maybe I will join for some party next week. I'd love to get out of my f* room...
After that I went to Covent Garden again and gave this Asian guy in the toy store my CV. The manager was outside, so they promised to call me on Saturday. Then I spent some time listening to a great musician outside of Covent Garden. He was singing R.E.M. and U2 in an awesome way. I even liked it more than the originals...
After having watched a funny Comedy Show outside I wanted to return home. I was tired, cold and hungry! But no~ .... NO Victroria line between Seven Sisters and Brixton. F*ck! My station Vauxhall lies in between... Therefore I get to take a longer and to me unknown route via Nothern Line to Oval and then walk a very long way to Sainsburys. Maaaaaaaan, I was so confused by all these foreign products, I can tell!!! Somehow I only bought some Toast, Cheese, Juice, Water and some sweets. 17GBP again X___X urgh!
Ah, not to forget: I also bought some Salt and Pepper dredger in Muffin design *__* and a Teacup spoon <3 at Covent Garden. Love this shop called Sass&Belle. So much beautiful Vintage stuff <3<3<3

DAY 4 [FEB12]:

Today was just like jbvfdbhbd. I decided to sleep till noon cause there was nothing productive to be done... Like on my second day the shower was a 10min-super-cold experience. Just haven't figured out how it works. Yesterday it was terribly hot and today I really had to take a totally cold shower. Not the best friend of good mood. Had some Toast in the kitchen and watched the first interesting programm on TV I've seen yet. Looney Toons 2 with Brendan Fraser. So funny. But again I got very cold after som time and now I am again lying in my bed with kinda frozen hands and feet...
What am I going to do tomorrow? Argh, don't know...On Monday I maybe take a look at the OCS in London and take some pics or something......
Or maybe I should just keep sleeping until midst of March...

London Diary days 1+2
Hey everyone~

for my studies i have to go abroad for at least 5 weeks.

DAY 1 [FEB09]:
So, yesterday i arrived in London, pretty late actually, but easyjet flights are always either in the early morning or late eve. I live in a room in a B&B in Vauxhall, South Lambeth; only 2 stations from Victoria.
Unfortunately my room is pretty cold. Even with the heater on, i still feel ill (but i know I'm not...). I wrenched my muscles in my arms by pulling my 35kg trollies from Bochum to South London... a very exhausting 6h-journey...!
After having unpacked most of my stuff I fell into the comfortable bed. But due to the fact that i miss my boyfriend very much, who is currently working in the US, I could not sleep... Lucky that I could take a day off on Thursday...

DAY 2 [FEB10]:
I awoke early. Too early. 7.30am. For someone, who doesn't have anything to do: too early! Therefore i got back to sleep and awoke again at around 9am. After getting ready kinda slowly, I left at 12.30pm in order to find a job. I did not find a placement or job when I was in Germany, so i hoped to get one by asking around. My first destination should be Covent Garden. Because it was pouring and also because I just love the place it seemed to be worth a try. So many little shops and cafés... I walked into a little toy shop. The owners seemed to be Asian like nearly all the other owners of the shops around. And I always thought Regent Street and China Town were the Asian spots XD However I asked the owner and explained everything to her. My whole situation. That i was going to stay for 5 weeks and that I was looking for something to do. Payment not required. She told me to bring a CV the next day and I am planning to do so! I asked in several other shops like David+Goliath, Disney, different Cafés. But always the same: We cannot hire you for only five weeks and we are not allowed to let you work for free. These were the main refusals...
After that I had lunch at Covent Garden: Paella. And Sprite >D! Actually, I didn't want to eat for lunch but I was feeling so dizzy already that I decided to change my plans.
Before I had gone home I went to Picadilly and bought some nice japanese idol magazine (duet) and a Melon Pan (which didn't taste like Melon at all. It was only a Pan. Without Melon. Won't buy I ever again..!) I left for Tesco and bought some drinks and fruits and then off to Boots for some Shampoo and Lotions.
The drinks were so heavy in my jute Tesco bag that I had to take a break at Victoria and had a nice hot Capucchino. At around 6.15pm I grapped my stuff again and marched towards the Tube station. Which was closed. Hundrets of Londoners were standing and waiting in front of a huge gate and a sign told them not to enter the station (which was not possible, btw, because the gate was...closed?!?!>__>"") But I was lucky. It was openening when I got there and therefore I carried all my stuff down the stairs. When I arrived at home I was feeling like a dead duck. Again. I brought my stuff upstairs and went to the kitchen for some tea and boring - really boring! - TV. I'm pretty happy that internet is working now!
Just now I am sitting on my bed, missing home and my darling, feeling cold and being tired. Therefore, good night, folks!
What I bought today:

(If there is anybody out there, living near London, and wanting to meet a Johnnys Fan and wanting a (cosplay) shooting, just tell me! I. AM. BORED!)

What was your worst travel experience ever, and why?

Actually my trip to Tokyo was both the worst and best trip i've ever had!

On the day we wanted to go by plane, my boyfriend forgot the car keys in the trunk. This was the car we had to go by to Frankfurt airport, which usually takes around 3 hours. Well, he borrowed his father's car and drove home in order to look for a spare key or however you may call it in english XD
He did not fin it. So back to my town (we don't live in the same town!). He called the ADAC, some breakdown service, signed the f* membership and they helped us to get into the car XD
Then he had to return his dad's car, but we didnt have the time to do so AND return for his car. Therefore he drove his dad's one into the city and i followed him driving his car. I was so totally overextented! I mean, i DO have a driver licence but i had never driven his car before and it was so totally different AND my first time alone in a car Ö3Ö
So, when we arrived, and he returned, he saw me crying XD Too much for lil Nini!

The way down to rankfurt was alright. We were pretty late. The real problem, however, was the airline company. They gave us wrong tickets and there was no way for us to take the airplane we had planned. Therefore we had to sleep on the floor of an office without a mat or any covers. It was terrible. Our next flight was going to depart on the next day at 2pm or something. Because of all this we lost one day in Tokyo and only 2 days were left. We got 150€ back but i would prefer the right flight next time ^^
